Our Research Methodology
How Ask Kepler Research actually works.
Since Ask Kepler was first conceived, it has been quietly ingesting the world's business knowledge — by process, by specialty, by industry and sector. The result is a deep AI knowledge base covering virtually every discipline involved in managing and improving business performance — including the problems that are hard to even put into words when you're searching for help.
In its development so far, Ask Kepler has ingested history on over 700,000 business and economic metrics, more than 12,000 Leading Practices across 422 management specialties, 109 business processes, and 87 industry sectors — plus over 20,000 benchmark KPIs — not just Ph.D.-level knowledge of every management discipline, but in-depth knowledge of how to actually solve the problems leaders face.
From that structured foundation, Ask Kepler uses leading AI models to extract insight and organize it for fast, precise retrieval — so the right practice or benchmark surfaces the moment it's needed.
Independent research
Ask Kepler is an independent company. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Deloitte or any other consulting firm, and its practices, benchmarks and analysis are developed independently. They contain no Deloitte proprietary material. Where a practice names consulting firms, those are firms known for work in that area that a reader could engage for help, not the source of the content.
Ask Kepler then puts that knowledge to work in two steps: first, identifying the real business problems leaders actually face; then, surfacing the leading practices that solve each one — along with the benchmarks that show what good performance looks like, so a leader knows not just what to do, but how well they should expect to be doing it. The thought leadership articles you're reading are one output of that process: each gives a high-level view of a specific problem and its solution, with links to the more detailed practices, benchmarks, and tools behind it for readers who want to go further. Every article is reviewed and edited by Richard Rothery before publication.
